x | Today's Show-Where does the baby sleep ? Hello Val, I just wanted to say I listen to your show every morning, and some days it can be most humorous! This morning when you were talking about making the break of your son, sleeping in the same bed with you. What you may want to try is to sleep with his bedding before you put it in the bassinet, as then it will have yours and your wife?s sent on it and it will not be foreign. You know as adults we just love the smell of clean sheets and bedding, but to a wee little one they do not like it so much. I did do this with both of my girls, who are now 20 and 17. I will say I never let them sleep in the same bed with their father and I, as it does make it hard on the parents to get use to as well as the wee little one. They did sleep in a cradle right next to the bed, so I would be there when they cried, then at the age of three months they did move into their own room. I did have a baby monitor in their crib with them so I could listen to their every move. Then when they start moving around you can move the monitor outside of the crib. I do wish you and your wife much happiness, as kids are the greatest! Just remember to get down on their level, by laying on the floor with them, as there is nothing more wonderful then the world through a child?s eye. Just imagine all the knees and ankles they see, Hahira! Have a great day! Thank You, Sharon Comments for the day: Kids sleeping with parents?NO?not on a full time basis?ever! Not even as babies, unless there is a reason for it. They all need their own space?they need to learn..it is where they are to sleep. But?as a kid?I found it very comforting to climb in bed with my mom and dad on occasion. Cold stormy nights?or if I just needed comforting. My brothers did too as kids..sometimes we were all in the bed at the same time. Good memories! When my mom and dad could not live on their own any longer, my husband and I moved them in with us. I still would once in a while?climb in bed with them?more to comfort them this time. When my dad was dying?in my house?we had hospice there and I would climb up on the bed and lay there with him?. Not sure who it helped more?but it was something I had done all my life?my brothers had not done that since they were little boys and I think they would have been comforted by it too?I did the same with my mother when she was dying..but she was in a hospital..the bed was small, but it didn?t? stop me from lying with her. My kids did the same as I did?when they wanted to climb in our bed?it would be fun?like a big sleep over?just not all the time. My grandkids sleep with us when they spend the night. But never as babies did I have them sleep the entire night in my bed. Hi, I listen to your show faithfully every morning at work. I just wanted to make a comment about kids sleeping in the bed with the parents. When I had my son, I still lived with my parents and all I had was a twin size bed, so I couldn?t have my son sleep with me. He slept in his bassinet. When he was 6months old, I moved out to my own place and he had his own room and he has slept in his own room. On occasion or when he was sick, I would let him sleep with me in my bed. Val, he is 16yrs old now, and any opportunity or excuse and he wants to sleep in my bed. He will tell me, 5 more minutes when I try to get him to go to his bed. Those 5minutes will turn into 1hr and then at that point I forget or fall asleep. So whether, you have them sleep in the bed with you or have them sleep in their own bed, no matter what, they will want to sleep in their parents bed! Lourdes Hey Val, I used to listen to you all the time when I was in Ohio. I'm currently in Germany because my husband is stationed here for the military. I've been going crazy with no American music or radio stations, then I realized I could listen to you guys on-line. It's so nice to have some familiar sounds when I'm really missing the states. Thank you guys soooo much!!! -Tricia | x

x | Todays Thoughts Hi, Heard you say this morning that you hadn't decided which presidential candidate you were going to vote for. Then you talked a bit about the outrageous campaign spending. You made an extremely good point that campaigns do not need to spend that much, and the money could be put to much better use. Something else you didn't mention is the enormous time and effort it takes to raise that money. We want our candidates to devote their time and energy in talking with constituents about their ideas and how they will make a difference in our lives. You will be happy to hear that the California Senate has just passed a bill to "experiment" with campaign finance reform for one major public office, Secretary of State, and will go into effect for the 2014 election. This means that candidates can volunteer to receive public funds for their campaign; they will not have to spend their time fundraising! See: http://www.caclean.org/progress/ab583.php Thank you for bringing this important issue to the public. It needs to be more widely understood and supported! Can you imagine if all elections were so? -- Carolina Hey Val, I listen to you all morning at work (I start around 6:20) and you get me thorough the morning. I just wanted to tell you that I am pretty sure in Hawaii they mix their low grade gas with quite a bit of ethanol and if you buy the kind with ethanol I believe that they discount the price. I am not 100% sure of this, but this is what I heard when I was there last summer. This might contribute to their gas being cheaper than our. Cat Hello Valentine, Let me first say that I totally love your show in the morning. I?ve always been a KIISFM listener since way back in elementary school. Back when Rick Dees was the dj. But recently about 4 months ago I got new job in Diamond Bar for a computer consultant company and sometimes its deadly quiet. I had a little rinky dink radio I brought to work to prevent me from boredom and the only station with perfect reception was 104.3my fm. And I have to say I absolutely LOVE IT!!!! The different variety you play and the funny topics that are spoken on your show, make me laugh. I also look forward to Irma?s chesme everyday! Well anyways, Valentine (and crew) I just want to thank you and for making me a life time listener and a huge fan. I am also a 104.3 member and play the secret codes anytime I get a chance or just scope out the pix from your gallery. Thanks again and keep kicking a#* on the air!!! And God bless you and your family. Sincerely, Debbie | x

x | HOW MAD WOULD SHE BE IF I DID NOT LET HER KNOW? - Posted Sunday, June 1st Hi Val, I was in the same situation as you. I wanted to get a tattoo of my only son but didn't know what or where. I decided after several months to get a picture of a baby in diapers on top of home plate swinging a bat. I love baseball. I got it on the right side of my right calf. This way it only shows when I'm wearing shorts, which should be a casual occasion. I have gotten so many compliments on it, because it's in good taste and it doesn't look bad professionally. P.S. Don't tell your wife....just go and get it. Milton ________________________________ Hi Valentine! Love your show, I listen to it everyday. You know where you should getyour tattoo of Collin? x | HMMMM A TATTOO - Posted Sunday, June 1st Hi Valentine :-) My kids and I listen to your show every morning on the way to school. We followed you over from Star (btw, can I just say how weird that was? one day you were on one station then all of a sudden you're on 'MYfm' :-P ) Anyways, I wanted to comment on the tattoo conversation this morning. I didn't get to hear the rest of the discussion, but if you ARE going to get a real tattoo w/ Colin's (not sure if I spelled that right) or Leilani's name, try it out w/ temporary stuff first. If you're looking at something in color, please try temporary tattoo body paint first (that lasts maybe 1-2 days). That paint just lays on the skin...no staining involved. If you just want to see if you like the design and placement, go with Henna. Natural henna has a reddish-brown to burgundy-brown stain that will last you about 1-2 weeks. Stay away from 'black henna' like that found onVenice Beach boardwalk. There's hair dye in the paste and that's REALLY bad for your body. Yes, I'm a Henna Artist and also do Temp Tattoos ;-) If you'd like to try out henna, let me know. I'm from the OC area. However, if you need one closer to your area, let me know and I'll look one up for you. Congratulations to you and Leilani on the birth of Colin - Lemie | x

x | MOVIE PROBLEMS - Posted Wednesday, May 28th Hi Val, Irma, Nate, and Jillian, I love your show and listen to it every day - I commute 100 miles a day and I never turn away from 104.3! You always open up such great conversations and topics, and I wanted to tell you about an experience I had this weekend. I saw the new Indiana Jones on Friday, but my disappointment wasn't with the movie. About 10 minutes into the movie, a woman with 2 small children came into the row ahead of us (crawling over a lot of people, of course), This was bad enough, but the woman then answered her phone several times throughout the movies - and even made phone calls! She spoke at full volume and paid no attention to the people shushing her. This was bad enough, but I have to tell you, it bothered me so much that she brought these two young children to a late showing of a movie with scary parts in it. They were probably 5 or 6 years old. During one scene where some people got killed in a scary way, the little girl began to cry, and her mom shushed her - because she was on the phone! I was appalled. I wanted to tell those kids to cover their eyes or leave the theater for a moment until the scary part was over. Have you or your listeners experienced this? How would you handle it? Have people always been this rude in theaters, because I sure don't remember getting so annoyed! Love you guys and keep up the good work! Jennifer from Ventura *************************** Val--- I did ask a few girls one time during the trailers if they would be talking through the entire film. They did. I am always amazed at how rude people can be in movies. Credit my wife though, we were at some flick when we saw some kids sneak in-- we said nothing until they wouldn't stop talking behind us and just generally driving us crazy. My wife loved mentioning to the ushers when she went to the rest room that they had snuck in-- OUT THEY WENT !!! :) | x

x | WEDNESDAY'S TOPIC - Posted Wednesday, May 28th This was a story we spoke of concerning a 5 year old autistic child that was VOTED out of his classroom by his fellow students at the prompting of his teacher. She also asked them before the 14-2 vote to tell the child what they hated about him------- My opinion as a parent of my own child who has a disability I would have to agree that it was wrong of this teacher to do such a hinderous way of discipline. No child should go through that in any case. It's hard enough for a child to go through life not even knowing if they have a disability. Anna from Hemet, Ca ********************* Valentine, I feel it was irresponsible for you to not have a teacher or other educator voice their thoughts about the incident in Florida on air this morning. I am an educator and was a classroom teacher for 7 years and there is more to the story here than we as outsiders to the situation know. There are a few key points that need to be kept in mind when looking at this situation. The first is that students are not identified as special education students until after kindergarten and sometime not until after first grade. This poses a problem for the other students in class as well as the teacher. The bureaucracy of education requires documentation of significant length and that is for the wellbeing of the child. Sometimes it is to the detriment of the other students in the class as well as the teacher. This causes frustration for a teacher who wants to help all of her students but is being undermined by one. I am not saying what the teacher did was right, what I am saying is that before we attack that teachers judgment we need to look at the broader picture. It is not as simple as asking not to have the student in class. The response that is usually given to that request is that the teacher needs to deal with it. This late in the year the teacher most likely reached the end of her rope and was possibly not being supported by her administration. It is important that the public keep in mind that today's teachers are dealing with so much more than just instructing students and, as you said this morning are doing so for very little pay. Teachers today are not receiving the free benefits anymore that they used to and if they don't work in the summer they don't get paid either, which is something everyone forgets. Also keep in mind that teachers spend on average $1,000 of their own money a year for supplies for students and that number is higher in urban areas. Instead of looking at this teacher and laying the ills of education at her feet, people should be questioning what is happening to our educational system that something like this could happen. I hate to break this to you but it is only going to get worse. If you poll kids in school today about what they want to do when they grow up few of them want to be teachers because the pay is so bad that most of their teachers can't even afford a house and some of them drive beat-up cars too. Who will teach the children once we as a society have convinced the world that teachers are not worth anything and the only people who will take the job do so to benefit themselves and not the students. Let's remember that the work of a teacher is HARD and that without support of the community and their administrators it is worse. One of the things I never heard was the behavior the student was displaying. Was he throwing things, or hurting other students? Was he tearing the room apart? These things happen a lot and teachers are expected to just deal with them and I am willing the bet that the parent of this child was not as helpful to the situation as she could have been. These are just a few things to keep in mind when you talk about teachers and don't give one a chance to speak. Regards, Allison ********************* Good morning. I am a former pre K teacher and this story just makes me so sick!!!I can not believe this lady would think this is ok. Obviously she didn?t want the job she wanted the benefits. I am sorry but all these parents trust you with their most valuable possession. I had a kid in my class one year that I believed was autistic I was in good communication with his mom though, this kid needed more attention than any other kid but I never once made him feel different nor did I ever treat him horrible for needing special attention because you know what these kids don?t ask to be born with special needs it just happens. I loved all my kids and always had great communication with my parents. As a teacher you are to show the kids how to love and care for one another not to be mean and embarrass one another. I am so angry with that lady they should stand her in front of an auditorium and have people throw mean comments on her to see how she likes it. I believe it is enough to charge her for emotional abuse on a kid! Oh my goodness! Thank you VAL and IRMA! Love, Jess From Garden GroveP.S. Hi Simona! | x

x | CELL PHONES FOR 10-YEAR OLDS AND YOUNGER - Posted Thursday, April 24th Hey Val....can't get away with calling from work this morning (big meeting today) but wanted to share our cell phone story. My youngest, 10 got a cell phone this year - I went back to work after being a stay at home mom since she was born. She now rides her bike to and from school and we got it for her so she could call me and let me know she made it okay in each direction. She can only call those that I program in and can only get calls from those that I program in. A friend of mine then turned around and got top of the line cell phones for their two kids who take it to the extreme that you are talking about. They are constantly texting and picture mailing - it's ridiculous! I really think it's all about how responsible your kids are or aren't. OH - CONGRADS ON BABY COLIN! He's gorgeous and as a mom I think it's wonderful that you are working from home so you can be there with your wife and baby. Have a great day! Erin ********* Thank god my daughter had a cell phone at that age because she was walking home and someone tried to take her and her friend. Her friend cell phone wasn?t charged but her?s was and she was able to call a mother and she came to get the girls. The gentlemen ran away and was later stopped by police. But if those girls did not have a cell phone who knows what might have happened.I get the phones from target pay to go and put maybe 20.00 every other month. It is for emergencies. She does not abuse the phone. Every child is different. Kelly ********* Morning Valentine, My 2 boys, ages 9 & 10 have had their cell phones since last year because they walk home from school and I wouldn?t have it any other way BUT they have rules and the fear of Mom J that makes it appropriate in our eyes. They can?t text, download or go on the web (which they hate) and know we all share minutes therefore they can only talk to friends that have the same carrier. One of my son?s teacher actually collects all the cell phones in the morning and gives them back at the end of the day. Unfortunately, in today?s society it?s a reality. I think the one lady put it well, it depends on the child, I am constantly telling my kids that I have the power to see when and who they call and refuse to give in on text messaging. I love the comfort of knowing if my kids go around the block to their friends house they can call me in an emergency or I can call and check up on them, it has it positives and negatives. Again, it all falls back on the child. Anyhoo, congrats on the new bundle of joy I listen to you guys every morning at work and love all of you! Take care and I?ll talk to you soon when I am the 104th caller today for the 10K song J Tasha | x

x | TUESDAY IS EARTH DAY - Posted Tuesday, April 22nd Today is our two week visit to the pediatrician! Gonna find out how much weight Colin has gained. I may also tell him the "I am Legend" story. See here's the thing, if you have seen that Will Smith movie you'll get what I am saying. When night falls in "I am Legend" that's when Will gets nervous and battens down the hatches. That's us when its Colins bedtime. We never know what to expect :) Last night was not that bad. Leilani fed him at 12ish and I had the 3am shift. Time to turn on Sportscenter Yeah!!!!! Ok so Earth Day is here. I did buy some of those canvas bags at Whole Foods, but so what's the deal will I get funny looks when I use them at Ralphs or Albertsons? Now Irma says I should be getting money back on my water bottles when I buy them at the grocery store, and I should take them to a recycling center ? I have been robbed I tell ya...but then again am I actually gonna take these plastic bottles to a recycling center? I just put em out by the trash in the recycle bin. | x

x | GREAT NOTE FROM MARK ON CAR BUYING - Posted Wednesday, April 16th On your show this morning you were discussing a 6 hour marathon one of your associates had to endure just to purchase a new car. I heard several ideas exchanged on how to avoid this kind of dealer abuse but I wasn't able to get to the phone to offer what I think could be the solution for most of your listeners or at least a method that works for me. To start out, you need to do your homework on the car you're going to buy. Go to one of several websites like Edmunds.com that will provide you with the actual wholesale price on the car you want. Some of these sites even reveal the wholes prices on accessories and accessory packages. Now you sort of know what the car is acutually worth. But also keep in mind that there is a "holdback" or hidden profit in the wholesale price of about $1000 or more to guarantee the dealer money no matter how close the he sells a vehicle towholesale. There are also hiddern profits in volume sales and model close-outs. So the dealer always makes money. Once you know the wholesale on the car of your choice, figure no more than about a $250 profit that you'll allow the dealer over wholesale. Also figure for your CA taxes at 8.25% and your registration and license which will come in at about 2.5%. After that there's nothing else except the doc fees which are about $50 to $100. Now you know what you're willing to pay for the car. Do your calculations and start phoning or emailing dealers to let them know what your out-the-door price is. If you have secured financing, offer them thechance to beat it. If you don't, let them know that they're not getting their profit margin back in interest. In other words, they're going to have to finance you at a very low interest rate. When you locate a dealer who meets your needs, you should be off the lot in a bout 15 minutes with your car. It's a good idea to inform the salesman that he has about 5 minutes to close the deal or you're walking without any further discussion. This isn't a bluff. It's what you should do. Some dealers may insist that your figures are wrong and even show you different figures on their computer monitor. Inform them that a computer will say what's programmed into it and that companies like Edmonds.comwould be held libel if their figures were inaccurate. Sooner rather than later, one of these dealers will take the deal. The end of the month timing and beingclose to September can help a little here too. I've followed this proceedure many times. It never fails even when a dealer claims that no one will giveyou that deal. In fact, some of these dealers have phoned back a few days later offering the same deal that they claimed no one would offer. Hope this helps - Mark | x

x | A SHORT NOTE FROM DIANA - Posted Sunday, April 6th Ok read this short note from Diana about her husband. A short note that speaks volumes: As my boss frequently likes to use this qoute "If I Had More Time, I Would Have Written You a Shorter Letter" Well Diana took the time to write the shortest note possible that speaks volumes to me. By the way everytime I hear that above qoute someone attributes it to someone else. I wonder if anyone knows who really said those words? I have heard Oscar Wilde, TS Elliot, Hemingway, Mark Twain, and Blaise Pascal. Not that it really matters to me...but just wondering. :) Here is the note from Diana- Home from Iraq. Glad to have you home dear after 7 long months. We missed you on Pomona Fair Day, Halloween, Hallowen Haunt, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, and 3 birthdays. We are all glad you are home. | x

x | FRIDAY'S TOPIC FROM OPRAH - Posted Sunday, April 6th Ok so these are just some of the highlights from many emails we received on the two points of view (and sometimes a 3rd) on the subject of ?Thomas? on Oprah. I got some great emails, very well worded, well thought out and some very caring.Know that I READ all the emails you send to me, and try to respond to all in time. I do have my opinion on this story and I am sure you heard it on the air. This topic was 57 minutes of our show on Friday and keep in mind what you heard may have not been all the segments. I may disagree with what Thomas did but we all agree that kids need love. We also had a listener write in that there were more important issues to be discussed, I hope we do broach those as well. Look at the picture in my latest post above this thread and read the short sentence that brings a tear to your eyes. Now my 1st child arrives tomorrow night-I have not even announced that on the air yet so say a lil prayer for my wife and child. Ok here come your thoughts: I needed to share my POV with you. I listened in this morning and the discussion in regards to Thomas then born as a woman but now legally a man. Look if Thomas gave up (voluntarily) the rights to being and living as a woman, then with that he gave up (legally) the rights to bare a child!!! Plain and simple. And, to add to that point, why isn't his "wife" having this child. If she was, then this wouldn't be in the news today! This would be just another "couple" expecting a child. I think it's a way for Thomas to get the attention that he's/she's obviously lacking in his life all along!!! Thanks for letting me share my POV. - Patricia ********************* Valentine: I started listening to your show since you started it. I don?t listen to anything else. I listen in the car and I stream at work. I think you and your staff do a GREAT JOB! I was listening today as you referred to Oprah?s show. I also heard some of the comments that were made. I thought it was interesting how Tom was referred to as a man under the eyes of the law. In my opinion, PREGNANCY is not something defined under the eyes of the law, but under the laws of NATURE. It is natural to have a woman have children and it is normal to want to experience the maternal instincts or ?miracle of life?. I think if Tom wanted to have the opportunity to experience having a child, he should have considered this before changing from Tracy to Tom. The child will come into this world, which is not always kind to the abnormal situations or life styles. Kids/people are brutal to kids who come from anything different that a ?NORMAL? family. - Laura ********************* Good morning to all on the Valentine show.My name is Valorie and I'm from Boyle Hts.My comment is if this person is still "medically" a female then he/she should "absolutely" be able to have a baby.I understand what you're saying about this child, later, being hounded by the media which is no different from the "Test Tube Baby" from many years ago which drew a "tremendous" amount of ridicule from the media and "therefore" the public. "ANYTHING" new is going to draw attention to the WORLD.But it is "NEVER" okay, unless this person had past child abuse issues, to tell someone whether they should or shouldn't be allowed to have children.Yes, even it was a similar situation like in the movie "Junior" which stared our NOW Gov.Again, "ANYTHING" new is going to draw attention to the media and ridicule from others who are ignorant. As hard as it is for "same sex couples" to have children of their own, she still has the opportunity to have his/her own child without having to go through the difficulties of adoption procedures. It is the right of "every" human being to be able/allowed to have children to be raised in a loving, nurturing environment.PLEASE, continue to have segments like this so as to keep the public/your listeners minds exercised. There is nothing wrong with a good "healthy" debate.Thank you so much for taking the time to read this comment.Good luck in all our future shows.Just "one" of your many listeners, - Valorie ********************* "Valentine" in the morning, You will be happy to know that you are the FIRST disk jockey that has ever compelled me to actually respond to a discussion I have heard on the radio! =) Not sure if this is a good thing? I simply want to say how disturbed I am by the discussion on today's show. First let me start by saying that you seem to self recognize yourself or your show as something different from media and/or tabloids, you are the same! Whether you believe it or not. You are sensationalizing the topic just as they would, the only difference is that we have to go to your website to view the pictures. You are feeding into the close minded mentality of what our society believes to be the "right" way to be, live, act, and thing to do. Let Thomas/Tracy do whatever the heck he wants and let us all mind our own business. Not too long ago the topic of discussion was interracial couples and the issues their children would face, then it was homosexual/lesbian couples choosing to have/raise children, today it is Thomas' scenario to self identify and legally be recognized as male and choose to carry a child...a legal document doesn't trump biology. Nevertheless something is happening here...do you see the cycle or progressive path our society is taking. We will eventually get to the place where this is different but accepted. Let's not make the progressive path more bumpy than it needs to be. Rather than making this a controversial thing, you should be making it an exciting thing...diversity, acceptance, change! Why do we become shocked or awed by things that are different or against the grain or what we have been socialized and conditioned to believe is "right/wrong". - Paul ********************* Wouldn't it be wonderful if we celebrate the differences, instead of judging and questioning each other. We live in such a divers society, and thank God we do not all have to be the same.As long as we treat each other with love and respect. - Dee Dee ********************* I am a very open person. I have a gay sister and I am supportive of her and her partner. If she chose to have a child it would not bother me. What bothers me about this situation is that it is a person that looks and wants to be a man that is having a child. I am all for transgendered people but when you choose to change your sex you give up the right to do things that, that sex would normally have done before they changed. I do not think this has to do with whether they will love this child, but how confused this child is going to be and the hardships this child is going to have to go through. Forget about being hounded by the press, what about their own peers. What happens when this child wants to have friends and go to school, no matter how much the parents what to protect them this child will be a laughing stalk. The gay man who came on talking about how he is gay and he has children all the more power to you. This situation is totally different then yours in so many ways. You did not give birth to your children, you are a father to your children which is just great. I do not think Valentine was trying to say anything offensive to you. These are just a few of my thoughts on this topic. Thanks, - Kiley ********************* What you guys don't seem to realize is that Thomas is NOT the first post-transition transman to ever have a baby. There is AT LEAST one other that I know of personally... and there probably more. And the baby of the one I know of is FINE and does NOT receive constant media attention. Why? Because unlike Thomas, the dad did NOT go on Oprah and BRING that attention to his family. He just stopped taking testosterone and had a baby. As a single dad, to boot. Yeah, it got a little attention (even in San Francisco), but wasn't the biggest deal going. Just FYI. Also - whether a not a transman was attractive as a female before transition is TOTALLY irrelevant to whether or not said person feels comfortable in their body. That's just as insulting as asking a beautiful woman why she's a lesbian, IMO. Thanks! - Star | x

x | A COUPLE OF THOUGHTS - Posted Monday, March 31st Good morning Valentine, Well I am an Australian and living here in OC and I wanted to let you know that the didgeridoo is not as easy to play as you might think. It is a hollow piece of wood, made hollow by termites eating out the inside, it is carved and painted. The end where your mouth goes has wax placed around it to help seal your mouth to the hole. Here comes the hard part. You blow like a raspberry breathing out but at the same time you need to breathe in your nose. It is called circular breathing. Try blowing out a straw at the same time as breathing in. It takes years of practice to learn this instrument. The player can make bird sounds, animal noises etc, however the rolling noise must ways continue while being played. Sounds easy! Not quite. I have a didgeridoo and still cannot play it. Good luck - Vicki Alvarado Very simple. I've taught kids for 20 years and I could always tell you the difference between the kids who do get spanked versus those who don't. Those who do have that fear (in a good way) or are concerned about doing wrong/upsetting the parents. Those kids who do not have that fear/concern know that the repercussions aren't too bad, therefore doing wrong isn't that big of a concern. I'm telling you, 20 years worth of being around the kids the scale is completely lopsided. So spanking obviously sets a positive tone inside the child. I actually like to look at as disciplining not just spanking. Love the show, - Todd | x

x | BREAST AUGMENTATION - Posted Thursday, March 27th We started talking about the unfortunate passing of an 18 year old girl in Florida during breast augmentation surgery, which was a result of complications with the anesthesia, but the bigger shock was that there has been a tri-fold increase in breast augmentations (Boob jobs) for girls UNDER 18 in recent years. As young as 14! Here?s what you had to say: Hi Valentine, Although I do not agree with young woman getting breast augmentation unless it is for health related reason I wanted to point out that Stephanie Kuleba was not getting implants she was fixing problems she had with her breasts. I quote "Kuleba was undergoing surgery to correct asymmetrical breasts and an inverted areola, Stanziale said." - Natalia I am so surprised that doctors would do surgery on girls under 18. We fought doctors and the medical insurance company for 5 years to get a breast reduction for my daughter. at 14 she was already a 36 triple D. Doctors would not do the reduction because they said she was still developing. She had bad back and neck pain because of the weight. Finally when she was 19 we were refered to a doctor by the insurance company and she was able to have the reduction. He removed 5 lb from the breasts. She was surprised that some of her friends couldn't understand why she wanted a reduction. These friends all would have liked an enlargement. I am so surprised that doctors would do this type of surgery on girls under 18. By the way this is not a cheep surgery. My daughter's surgery was $20,000. Insurance did pay most of that. I also believe that under 18 or even before having kids is not OK to get a boob job; I?m 24 years old I have two little girls and during my second pregnancy I went from a 32B to a 34D. Thank You, Lupita Islas I agree with you 100% regarding the "boob jobs" under age. But to give credit, the article that I read regarding this cheerleader, she was not getting a "typical enlargement" job. She had an inverted areola (how ever you spell that) and one other thing I had no idea what it was. So within the article, it sounded like what she was getting was not your "typical" boob job and more of corrections. Love the show! Then there was the Leslie Nielson interview??. Good morning Val, From one ex-cop (Lieutenant. Buena Park, 30+ years) to another, I think we would have probably hooked Mr. Nielson up for drunk. Great show as always!!! - Bob | x

x | PAULA ABDUL - Posted Wednesday, March 5th Ok Paula Abdul. Now two things to remember this is my blog so what I write could get me in trouble. That being said, I am at a loss for words in regard to today's interview with PA. Listen to it online and email me your thoughts. Legally, I can not say some things-but it was an exhausting interview. Larry King would have taken his own life. IMHO. Now she is verrrrry nice. Loves to hug, touch, kiss and spray her perfume everywhere. :) The conversation though, was beyond disjointed. I was not even sure what question I asked or she answered at points, BUT she is very nice. lol BTW the picture "pose" was her idea. | x

x | BARRY MANILOW AND MY MANHOOD - Posted Tuesday, March 4th Alright let's be honest, do I seem like a "Fanilow"? I really love the guy's music and he is a classic. In the way of talent he really does have it, I remember him schooling those kids on idol, rearranging the music in his head and belting it out right there on the piano. AND the guy has a bar at his concert-c'mon that's pretty cool. Tomorrow we have Wicked Wednesday-YOU CAN WIN TICKETS TO WICKED! .....ok wait a minute I like Barry, Wicked, and show tunes...... ....The other day my friend Dave (LAPD), Joel (Dep. Sheriff) and myself went to the range and shot off a few rounds. Ya know .40 some .45's. Lots of gunpowder lofting in the air and the sound of the "tin" crying out from the spot on accuracy of these manly men that no doubt in a different time and place would be hunting food for the family....then we went out and had a margarita.....and then we ended up back at the Baby Shower the ladies were throwing my wife, BUT the point is we were doing some MANLY things and Dave even drove his pick up. | x
